Stories of God’s people

for every generation

Your Home for Bite-Sized Christian Biographies

To a Thousand Generations is your home for bite-sized Christian biographies. In these pages, I tell the stories of God’s people, from Old Testament heroes through today. I hope to surround today’s church with stories of God’s faithfulness to a thousand generations.

Bite-sized biography?

A bite-sized biography is a short story, perfect for bedtime, for break time, or for anytime. My older content runs between 6 and 10 minutes. As I add new stories, I’m watching the clock to make them even shorter.

“They had lots of chances, like us, of turning back, only they didn’t.”

— Sam Gamgee

Life’s busy. Why read stories?

Our world is filled with people who are detached from reality. Those who don’t know God or His purposes in history have no idea who they are or what they’re doing here.

But too often, God’s people aren’t much different. They don’t know that the Christian story is bigger than their local church and the times they’re living in. They don’t know how big the Christian family is or the great things God has done. These stories will change your life by encouraging you to keep going, or by challenging you to get moving.

We’ve Lost Our Heritage

For generations, Christians kept alive the family stories. They’d heard them from their parents, and they told them to their kids.

But somehow, not so long ago, people stopped telling the stories. When that happened, Christians became prisoners of the present, cut off from all who’d gone before. Our heritage was stolen. In forgetting the family, we lost sight of who we are.

We Need Heroes

The world today needs heroes. Our family tree is full of them. In themselves, they were ordinary people just like you and me. But they had faith in a big God who kept them going all the way.

In this age, we need to be reminded that this world isn’t all there is. There’s a kingdom waiting, and there are millions in our family who are cheering us on (Hebrews 12:1) and eager to welcome us home.

So join us. It’s time to tell their stories.
